New York Greek American captured their second consecutive U.S. Open Cup championship with a 1-0 win over Chicago Olympic. Substitute Bob Hatzos scored the lone goal of the match in the 50th minute. Substitute George Rossett got by three Olympic defenders for a shot that was blocked, which Hatzos pounced on and drove past Chicago goalkeeper Tony Dallas. The game was interrupted by crowd disturbance late in the game. Steve Kyriazes of Chicago was accidentally hit in the face by New York's Christian Gonzalez, and some of the crowd rushed the field. Referee Billy Rose stopped the game for 24 minutes as police tried to quell the disturbance.
