Shining & Not-So Shining Moment – The club advanced to the semifinals of the U.S. Open Cup in 1991. However, when they got there they defeated the Brooklyn Italians 1-0 to punch their ticket to the final, but it was later found (after Brooklyn filed a protest with the USSF) that RWB Adria used an ineligible player, and therefore it was the Italians who moved on to the final. Brooklyn would win the Open Cup that year, defeating the Richardson Rockets 1-0 in the championship game held at Brooklyn College in New York City.
